MOFCOM Visit Purdue University
July 25 - July 31 @ -
The delegation to the USA (with stops in New York, Silicon Valley and Indiana), was sponsored by the Chinese national Ministry of Commerce and their China Investment Promotion Association (CIPA). Their mission was to assess good locations for Chinese investment in the U.S. market. This is the first time such a high-level, national delegation specifically decided to visit Purdue/Indiana.
The group included more than 20 officials both from the national CIPA and from local governments (local CIPAs and development zones) responsible for investment promotion area (inward and outward). During their six days in Indiana, the delegation visited four cities, toured factories, met with state and local officials and were hosted at multiple dinners and events. They also spent a day at Purdue, where they met with our acting president, toured Discovery Park, Research Park and met Chinese-born students and faculty. The delegation will generate a report about their experience in Indiana which will be used to help inform Chinese corporate investment decisions in the future.
