Abstract Submission Instructions

Poster abstracts may be submitted by both graduate and undergraduate students conducting environmental research. Abstracts must be submitted by October 28, 2011. Prior to submitting an abstract, you MUST register for the symposium. Submitting an abstract does not automatically register you for the symposium.

After you have registered, download the Abstract Form and email the completed form to eseposter@gmail.com. The fields of the abstract form are locked to maintain formatting. We ask that you do not unlock the fields or change the formatting. Prior to submitting the form, please rename the file using the following format: Last Name_First Name.docx (e.g., if your name is John Smith, you should name the file: Smith_John.docx). In your email, please indicate whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student.

Poster Guidelines
Posters must be no larger than 3 feet 11 inches tall (from top to bottom) and 5 feet 10 inches wide (from left to right). Posters will be mounted to dual-sided, free-standing displays using push pins which will be provided. You are welcome to bring handouts to distribute at your poster.

Poster Judging
A panel of faculty, visiting scientists and engineers, and staff will be judging posters; therefore, we ask that you try to have at least one author or co-author of the poster present during the poster session to set up beforehand and to answer any questions the judges might have. Posters will be judged on five criteria: clarity, completeness, visual design, presentation, and generative promise. Judging criteria will be forthcoming.

If you have any questions about registration or do not receive confirmation of abstract receipt within 3 days of submitting an abstract, please contact Caitlin Grady at eseposter@gmail.com.

Prizes will be awarded for both the undergraduate and graduate competitions.
