John Seager is the President and CEO of Population Connection - having first joined the organization in 1996. He was appointed to the US EPA during the Clinton Administration. John also served as Chief of Staff for former US Rep. Peter H. Kostmayer (D-PA) who was a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs and Interior committees.
A graduate of Trinity College (CT) with a B.A. in Political Science, John travels throughout the US making presentations on global population growth. He visits numerous campuses and other communities to speak as part of a course or in some other venue. John has written articles on population topics ranging from the links to poverty, future outcomes and the concern about population decline in some highly developed nations.
Population Connection (www.popconnect.org) is the preeminent grassroots group for population education and advocacy with 140,000 members and supporters including 50,000 participating educators.
Founded in 1968 as Zero Population Growth (ZPG), Population Connection focuses on achieving global population stabilization through universal awareness and access to voluntary family planning together with the full empowerment of women. Its seeks to engage students in thinking about global population growth through lively, thought-provoking presentations focused on causes and impacts as well as how we can meet the challenge. Population Connection has been engaged in population issues for more than four decades on hundreds of college campuses.
