Budding Freshman Entrepreneurs From Around the World Come to Purdue
September 14, 2012

Over 45 incoming freshman with a strong interest in entrepreneurship chose to participate in the Entrepreneurship Learning Community this fall. These students, with diverse interests and cultural backgrounds, were greeted with a kick-off dinner sponsored and hosted by the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program. Learning communities at Purdue are designed to create cohorts of students with similar interests as a way to build community and increase retention.
These students live on the 8th floor of Harrison Hall, referred to as "the penthouse" and take ENTR 20000 together. At the dinner, Mike Cassidy, the Certificate Program lecturer who leads the learning community, gave the group inspirational words related to leading an entrepreneurial life. Students then shared their experiences related to being a new student and their entrepreneurial aspirations. We look forward to seeing what these motivated students accomplish while here at Purdue!
