Transportation Overview

The transportation sector is one of the big energy consumers. Energy Center affiliated research in this area focuses on identification of technology pathways for reduction in commercial vehicle fuel consumption and GHG emissions; development of long-lasting and safety of rechargeable batteries; bioenergy (feedstock improvement, sustainable cropping systems, logistics, processing and engineering, economics and policy); advanced combustion concepts for aviation gas turbine systems; transportation systems; and fuel cell technologies and hydrogen powered systems.
