World Energy Challenges and Renewable Energy in Brazil

Professor Filho and Professor Toledo will be on campus on January 23 in ABE room 301. Their lectures will focus on energy challenges around the world and renewable energy in Brazil. Please bring anyone who may be interested.
Professor Delly Oliveira Filho
Professor Oliveira received his PhD in Engineering from McGill University, Canada, focusing on Resource Planning and Energy. Since 1988, he has been working as professor at the Federal University of Vicosa. He has published more than 40 papers and supervised more than 27 post Doc, PhD and Master candidates. Research areas: include energy management systems and control, Integrated Resource Planning, Residue management for agricultural industries; and ethanol – alcohol from cellulose.
Professor Olga Toledo
Professor Toledo received her PhD in Engineering at the Federal University of Vicosa (advised by Dr. Filho) and is currently a professor at the Federal Center of Technological Education (Minas Gerais). Her research interests and activities include photovoltaic solar energy, distributed energy storage systems, fuzzy hierarchy, location models, and fuzzy logic.
