The Energy Academy at Purdue
"...inspiring future leaders in energy".
The Energy Academy at Purdue engages two levels of staff during the camp
Counselors for our program will include Purdue junior/senior-undergraduate and graduate students who are studying STEM related disciplines. Counseling in this program is stimulating, challenging and rewarding, and provides a unique opportunity to gain experience learning about energy, interacting with the high school students as well as teachers. The live-in setting also provides a rich environment for developing interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and exploring self-growth. Day and night shifts are available. If you unable to be present all days, from June 16-22, 2013, please do not apply.
Counselors will earn a base salary (fixed amount one time) of $650 for day shift (7:00 a.m. - 7 p.m.) or $450 for night shift (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.) for the academy duration. Free room and board during the program is also provided. All counseling positions/responsibilities begin with training sessions on the Saturday before the program starts and end when the last student in your counseling group leaves for home, around 1 p.m. on the final Saturday. Selected applicants are expected to attend several planning sessions prior to the beginning of the one week program to get familiar with the academy activities (hours spent in attending planning sessiond will be renumerated at $7.25/hr). They are also expected to participate in all activities in-town and out-of-town during the one week program.
