Biography
Dr. Qiao’s research interests focus on both fundamental understanding of combustion processes and interdisciplinary studies of advanced combustion technologies. She plans to use various experimental techniques and detailed numerical simulations to study combustion and the complex interactions among fluid mechanics, heat/mass transfer, and chemical kinetics. These studies are related to power generation, transportation, air-breathing high-speed propulsion, space propulsion, fire safety, combustion pollution emission, fuel efficiency, and development of alternative fuels.
