The Impacts of Federal Environmental Regulations on Indiana Electricity Prices

This report estimates the impact of a number of recently finalized or proposed federal environmental regulations on the projected prices of electricity and the use of electric energy in the state of Indiana. The analysis was performed using a traditional regulation forecasting model that equilibrates between price and demand. The effects of price changes on electricity demand levels were captured. Price impacts are presented at an overall average level as well as by customer class.
