Purdue Professor Jon Harbor Going to Qinghai for Ecopartnership L-THIA Project

L-THIA (Long-Term Hydrologic Impact Assessment) is a decision support tool that is used to incorporate water resource issues into the decision-making process for effective land use planning. 


Purdue Professor Jonathan Harbor (Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences), one of the original creators of L-THIA, is visiting Xining, the captial city of Qinghai, China to promote the L-THIA work in China as part of USCEES' Integrated Water Management Project in Qinghai, China.  During this trip, Professor Harbor will meet with environmental professionals and local planners in Qinghai. He will also work with Professor Xia Zhao at Qinghai Normal Unviersity on a collaborative proposal to Qinghai Provincial Science and Technology Department aiming to secure funds for future cooperation.
