• July 2006: UT/ORNL representatives visit China and sign the framework agreement of the China- US Joint Research Center for Ecosystem and Environmental Change

• July 2011: Timothy Filley, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Purdue University, was awarded First Visiting Professorship from the Chinese Academy of Sciences under a newly launched Ecopartnership.
