Elmagarmid, ACM Distinguished Scientist
Professor Ahmed Elmagarmid is a 2009 recipient of an ACM Distinguished Membership. This honor is bestowed upon members whom have made significant contributions to the computing industry and have had at least 15 years of professional experience. Elmagarmid was recognized as a Distinguished Scientist along with 58 other scientists. With this prestigious distinction members will become part of the ACM Advanced Member Grades Program. They will also receive a certificate, a pin, and an ACM membership card annotating their distinction.
Elmagarmid is a Professor of Computer Science and the Director of the Indiana Center for Database Systems and the the Cyber Center in Discovery Park. Elmagarmid's research interests range on a large spectrum of foundational and application-oriented database research.
