January 27 @ 11:45 AM - 1:30 PM - Lawson 3102 AB
The next HPC luncheon seminar is scheduled for Wed Jan 27, 2010 in Lawson 3102 A/B from 11:45 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.
A group of researchers from the Blue Waters Petascale Computing project (and the Great Lakes Petascale Computing Consortium) at Illinois will discuss how Purdue researchers could prepare their high performance computing (HPC) application codes to run on the IBM Blue Gene machine when it becomes operational. Applications selected to run on the machine would benefit from running now on simulators for the machines to identify where the performance leaks are likely to be, so that algorithm and code development could be undertaken to reduce the lead time for having applications achieve high performance on Blue Waters.
Please mark your calendars, and let Connie Moore (firstname.lastname@example.org) know if you will attend and your dietary preferences by Jan. 22, 2010. Postdoctoral researchers and graduate students working on Petascale computing projects are welcome to attend.
More details will be provided when we receive them from our Illinois colleagues
