A Unique In Vivo Pharmacology capability at Purdue University the Purdue Pig Pharmacology facility
June 3, 2010
The PPP will be a lean operation that accesses the well-documented similarities between pig and human tissues and physiology in the context of a unique and revolutionary technology for constant and stress-free dosing and monitoring of medicaments in a freely moving pig – the PigTurn Culex-L (PigTurn) model. Working with developer BASi in W. Lafayette, a group of Purdue researchers have demonstrated and documented the therapeutic efficacy, efficiency, and utility of this in vivo pharmacology system.
