Purdue Student Pugwash is a nonpartisan, interdisciplinary organization dedicated to making the socially responsible application of science and technology a guiding focus in the lives of aspiring engineers and scientists. We promote this goal by hosting weekly events on current issues involving politics, technology, and society. This week we are hosting a very special event.

Purdue Student Pugwash Midwest Conference 2009

"Health Care & Humanity: Solutions for Today and Tomorrow"

  March 27-28, 2009

Registration is open (until Wednedsay night)!

More information can be found at: attached is the conference agenda!

We have brought together accomplished speakers from some of the leading academic and health institutions in the country, including General Electric Healthcare, the University of Michigan, Doctors Without Borders, The Harvard School of Public Health, Cook Biotech, and the Indiana University School of Medicine. Each of the conference topics (ranging from the rising costs of healthcare to the ethics of genetic testing) has been chosen to create an understanding that incorporates each of the scientific, social, and ethical aspects of health care.

The conference has been set up to allow ample opportunities to meet and discuss with interesting attendees and speakers. You will have the opportunity for stimulating conversation at our banquet Friday night, plenty of chances for questions with speakers, engaging discussion of topics during the break-out session discussion event, and the chance to blow off some steam playing wallyball at the conference social!
