AGEP Scholars

AGEP Scholars serve as peer mentors for new incoming graduate students. They are to assist students with questions, course work and provide some tutorial assistance whenever possible. Scholars exist in the colleges of Science, Engineering, Technology, and Agriculture. In addition they assist with AGEP activities and workshops. Get to know your AGEP Scholars! They have a wealth of resources.

AGEP students benefit from access to the following:
  • Faculty Mentors
  • Mentoring by AGEP programs staff
  • Travel to professional conferences
  • Resource Materials
  • Network of Faculty
  • Enrichment and professional development workshops

My association with AGEP has been extremely rewarding, I have had the opportunity to not only help create programs / workshops that will benefit incoming graduate students (potential AGEP Scholars) but also to form lasting friendships. AGEP help funded conferences that I attended in Chicago, Indianapolis and Louisiana. Through AGEP, I also participated in recruiting events at NSBE National Conventions and LSAMP conferences.

AGEP is a wonderful program!

AGEP has afforded me the opportunity to attend professional development workshops and scientific conferences to present my research as well as be a spokesperson for the program. It has also given me the opportunity to mentor new graduate students in my discipline and to network with other students who are currently seeking PhD's . As an AGEP Fellow, I believe that I will make a smooth transition into the professoriate.

I am very pleased and impressed with the Midwest Crossroads AGEP organization since I started my graduate studies at Purdue University . As an AGEP student, I had the opportunity to stay in touch with the population at Purdue University and participate in some interesting workshops and seminars. I have had a very positive experience with AGEP and plan to continue further a deeper relationship with them.

Purdue University 's AGEP program assists the development of well-rounded graduate students and future professionals. This program and supporting staff have played an integral role in my matriculation. The opportunities (i.e. attending workshops and interacting with other students and professionals) afforded through AGEP have provided the essential benefits existing beyond the laboratory and classroom.
