Federal Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant

Source of Funds: Federal.
Eligibility Criteria: Parent or guardian was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces and died as a result of service performed in Iraq and Afghanistan after Sept. 11, 2001.
AND
You are under 24 years old or enrolled in college at the time of your parent’s or guardian’s death.
Application Form(s) Required: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA
Application Procedures: File FAFSA each year
Application Deadline: Plan to apply at least a few weeks before start of classes.
Amount of Award: Pell eligible students will receive the Zero EFC maximum Pell Grant Award
Non-Pell Eligible students will receive the Iraq Afghanistan Service Grant equal to the amount of a maximum Pell Grant Award. Exception: the amount will not exceed the cost of attendance for that award year
