Source of Funds: State of Indiana. Administered by the Division of Student Financial Aid (SFA), formerly known as the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI).
Eligibility Criteria: Indiana resident, financial need, part-time course load, (3–11 credits), satisfactory academic progress, and minimum GPA requirements. This grant is available to students seeking their first Bachelor’s degree.
Application Form(s): Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)/Renewal
Application Prodedures: File the FAFSA annually
Application Deadline: Plan to apply at least eight weeks before start of classes.
Amount of Award: Variable.
Period of Eligibility: Up to the equivalent of 16 part-time semesters maximum.
Appeal Procedures: Students who have been denied the Higher Education Award due to may appeal to have their award reinstated with the Indiana SFA.
