Accepting 2014-15 Academic Year Loans
Refer to the recommended apply-by dates based on different types of loans and application processes.
To allow adequate processing time for a private loan to credit your fall bill, we recommend that you apply by July 20, 2014. The application is completed through the chosen lender's website.
Stafford, Purdue, and Perkins Loans
To allow adequate processing time for a Stafford Loan to credit your fall bill, we recommend that you apply by August 1, 2014. Accept offered loans through your myPurdue account. For Stafford Loans a Master Promissory Note (MPN) or Loan Entrance Counseling may be required to be completed online at www.studentloans.gov. Purdue and Perkins Loans require a promissory note and entrance counseling to be completed at www.ecsi.net/prom3P. Check your Financial Aid Requirements on myPurdue under the Financial Tab to see if a note or entrance counseling is required for 2014-15.
Parent and Graduate PLUS Loans
To allow adequate processing time for either type of PLUS Loan to credit your fall bill, we recommend that you apply by August 1, 2014. The application is completed by the parent for the Parent PLUS and by the student for the Graduate PLUS Loan online at www.studentloans.gov. First time borrowers of the Parent PLUS Loan and Graduate PLUS Loan will be required to complete a promissory note. Borrowers of the Graduate PLUS Loan must also complete loan entrance counseling. The application, promissory note, and entrance counseling for these two loans are all available at www.studentloans.gov.
