Executive Masters Of Business Administration (EMBA)

The Purdue University Division of Financial Aid can assist you in obtaining student loan funding. If you are degree seeking and meet financial aid citizenship requirements, you may be eligible for the Stafford and/or Graduate PLUS Loan programs. Graduate PLUS Loan borrowers must be creditworthy or have a cosigner.  International students with a U.S. citizen cosigner may be eligible for alternative loan options.

To be considered for the Stafford and/or Graduate Plus Loan programs, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit our How to Apply page for more information on how to apply. Our School Code is 001825.  You will be required to sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for each loan program.  The electronic notes are available at www.studentloans.gov .

Financial assistance may also be available private/alternative loan programs. A cosigner is required only if you have no credit, have an insufficient credit history, or are an international student.  You can obtain more information about alternative loans at http://www.purdue.edu/dfa/loans/altloans.php.

Creativity is required to make the EMBA schedule fit into the traditional calendar set up of our student record system.  The EMBA Program is made up of 6 modules (every 2 is an academic year), but the 2015 Cohort has only 5 payment cycles.  Each academic year (AY) will have two loan disbursements, where half of the amount of accepted loans will apply to each module. Loan funds will pay to Purdue University and be applied to any unpaid fees.  Remaining funds will be disbursed, or refunded, to you.  Please note that payment for modules 3 & 4 have been condensed into the summer term; however, you will still have two loan disbursements.  If you are borrowing to also cover your living expenses you will not have access to these funds until the second summer disbursement (05/31/2014)Please plan accordingly.

You can borrow up to Purdue’s estimated cost of education, which includes allowances for fees and travel. Loan disbursement rules governing nontraditional schedules will only allow for two Stafford Loan elibility resets. These can occur at Module 1 and again at Modular 5.

Maximum loan amounts per academic year are as follows:

Stafford Loan:               The lesser of $20,500 or the cost of education
Graduate Plus Loan:    Cost of education minus other aid
Alternative Loan:          Cost of education minus other aid

It is recommended that loan requests be made at least one month prior to the beginning of the semester of enrollment; however, Stafford and Graduate Plus Loan requests can be accepted up to two weeks prior to the end of the module.

Please feel free to contact us should you have further questions.
