Prospective Students Financial Aid Information

The Division of Financial Aid (DFA) stands ready to assist prospective students in obtaining student financial aid for attendance at Purdue University.

The Division of Financial Aid has developed an overview for families titled Paying For Purdue: A Guide For You And Your Family. In addition, Purdue University offers the Purdue Financial Aid Estimator to empower families to learn about the cost of attending Purdue and the financial aid and scholarships for which they may qualify. This service is available only to domestic applicants (U.S. citizens and resident aliens).

  • February: Apply for financial aid via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1, for priority aid consideration; use estimated income tax information if necessary; don't be late!

  • March: Upon request, submit any requested verification information to the financial aid office.

  • April: Receive an official award letter from the financial aid office in early April; only return it to report receipt of other aid.

  • May: Report any private scholarship awards to the financial aid office.
