Weekend Masters in Technology Distance Program
The Purdue University Division of Financial Aid can assist you in obtaining student loan funding. If you are degree seeking and meet financial aid citizenship requirements, you may be eligible for the Stafford and/or Graduate PLUS Loan programs. International students with a U.S. citizen cosigner may be eligible for alternative loan options.
To be considered for the Stafford and/or Graduate PLUS Loan programs, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit our How to Apply page for more information on how to apply. Our school code is 001825.
First time borrowers for the Federal Direct Student Loan Program will also need to sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN)for each loan accepted on myPurdue. MPNs are available online at www.studentloans.gov.
Financial assistance may be available to credit worthy applicants through alternative loan programs. A cosigner is required only if you have no credit, have an insufficient credit history, or are an international student. You can obtain more information about alternative loans at www.purdue.edu/dfa/loans/altloans.php
The last step required is for you to confirm your enrollment under the Financial tab on your myPurdue account. This is required before your financial aid will credit your outstanding fees or allow remaining funds to disburse, or refund, to you.
You can borrow up to Purdue’s estimated cost of education, which includes allowances for fees and travel. Maximum loan amounts are listed below:
Graduate Plus Loan: Cost of education minus other aid
Alternative Loan: Cost of education minus other aid
**This is an academic year limit. This program includes a summer semester. You can either borrow more than your tuition costs during the academic year and save some of your refund for summer or save some loan eligibility to borrow for the summer semester. You will have to complete an additional aid application for summer aid. This application is usually available in mid-March on the Division of Financial Aid web site.
This program is considered half-time for financial aid purposes. If you can confirm your enrollment on myPurdue, everything is in place and your aid has been adjusted to match your enrollment. If you cannot confirm your enrollment, please email facontact@purdue.edu with your full name and Purdue ID (PUID). State that you are in the Weekend Technology Program and are not able to confirm your registration. Disregard any emails concerning full time enrollment.
