Once you have received a 2008-09 financial aid award notice (electronic version or paper), see imporant steps to take to obtain financial aid eligibility:
- Be sure to accept (or reject) aid eligibility via the online Financial Aid Self Service system at http://mypurdue.purdue.edu (an activated Purdue career account is required). Note that acceptance is required if a student wants a Federal Stafford Loan, Perkins Loan, Purdue Loan, Health Professions Loan, or Grad PLUS loan.
- Parents interested in applying for a Federal Parent PLUS Loan should review a fact sheet and submit a Parent PLUS Request Form to the Division of Financial Aid.
- Student and parent borrowers must sign a master promissory note for Stafford Loans, Parent PLUS loans, and Grad PLUS loans at www.dlenote.ed.gov. If these loans have been accepted and a promissory note has been signed, no more action is necessary on behalf of the borrower at this time.
- Students who have been offered and accepted Perkins Loan, Purdue Loan, and Health Professions Loan should receive instructions to sign a master promissory note at www.ecsi.net/prom3P.
- Students are required to report any private scholarships or other sources of financial aid to the Division of Financial Aid by completing a form available at www.purdue.edu/dfa/sandg/reporting.htm.
- If students plan to enroll less than full time in a particular semester (or not enroll), and that information is not indicated correctly on the award notice, students are required to report any changes in expected enrollment by completing an Expected Enrollment Form.
If any questions, financial aid counselors are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by telephone (765-494-0998) or in person (Schleman Hall Room 305); an email inquiry service is also available at www.purdue.edu/DFA/all/email.php.
