If you cancel your registration before the first
day of classes, a complete refund of tuition and fees will
be issued. Once classes begin, refunds are prorated based
on the official date of withdrawal from class(es). If you
drop hours or withdraw from the University, you may be responsible
for all or part of any unpaid charges. If you are eligible
for an amount of earned aid not yet received you will be contacted
by the Bursar's Office. Refund monies are distributed back
to financial aid accounts in accordance with federal regulations.
Contact Bursar staff with refund and calculation questions
at (765) 494-7570.
If you withdraw from the University during a
semester or summer session, you may be required to repay a
portion of any federal or state financial aid you received
for use during that period. If you are eligible for a refund
of fees, tuition, or housing as described in the next section,
and if any of these were paid by financial aid, the refund
may be paid to the aid program account rather than to you.
The Bursar will calculate the amount of any repayment for
which you are liable, in accordance with federal regulations,
and will bill you accordingly.
Students can view the Withdrawal
Policy through the Office of the Dean of Students website.
The Refunds
and Returns of Title IV Funds Policy can be viewed on
the Bursar website.
For information concerning refunds of University
housing payments, contact your residence hall manager or the
University Residences administration.
Unofficial Withdrawal
If a student stops attending all classes during a term, they will be in danger of being billed for their student aid. This is called an "unofficial withdrawal". At the end of each semester, DFA does a check of all students who receive all F and W grades. DFA will notify these students about the problem and require the student work with class instructors to document their last date of attendance.
