Dreamer, Problem Solver
Meet Ashley. A small-town girl with big-time dreams.
“I have always really loved problem-solving. If I didn’t understand how something worked, I would take it apart and figure it out, even as a little girl.”
Sounds like someone who always knew she was destined to study engineering, right? Well, not exactly.
“I didn’t know anything about engineering growing up. Not many people from my school studied engineering — I didn’t even know what an engineer was until the end of my junior year of high school!”
Today, Ashley is about to graduate from Purdue with a degree in chemical engineering. She gets good grades, loves her co-op internship (check out her video for more info), and can’t wait to graduate and be an engineer.
Forget the Fear
Her advice on how to be successful in college? Prepare as much as you can, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it — or even before.
“It’s worth putting in the hard work in school, because the end result is awesome. Don’t be afraid — it’s hard, but so much fun and so worth it!”
