Day on Campus
If you are starting at Purdue in the fall of 2008, Day on Campus will allow you to register for your classes, take college-credit exams, find out about campus activities, and do much more. Learn more by viewing the general Day on Campus brochure, a guide to help you prepare for your visit, and the testing schedule. When you arrive on campus you will receive Welcome to Purdue, a brochure that will guide you through your day.
All new, domestic, first-year and transfer students who plan to enroll in classes for the first time in fall 2008 are expected to attend Day on Campus 2008 to receive academic advisement and register for their fall courses. Students who do not attend this program will still receive advisement and be registered for their fall courses, but they might not be able to do so until after Purdue University’s faculty and staff have concluded serving the students who participated in Day on Campus 2008. It is in the best interest of every student to make sure that s/he attends Day on Campus 2008.
2008 Dates: June 10-July 2, 2008. However, some academic programs only participate on selected dates. Click here for a list of dates.
Choosing a date: You will receive your invitation to Day on Campus in May, and can register at that time. Please refrain from making airline reservations or other travel plans until you've received confirmation of your assigned date. We'll make every effort to schedule you for your first-choice date; however, a large number of requests for a specific date may force us to select one of your alternate choices. If all of your choices are filled, we'll schedule you for the first available date. Please note that Mondays, Fridays, and June 10 are requested most often. If a job commitment or vacation plans limit your options to a specific date, enclose a brief note of explanation and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
Times: The day begins at 7:45 a.m. and usually ends mid-afternoon, depending on the number of advance credit exams you choose to take.
Parents and family members: Don't miss "Parents and Family Members: Partners in Student Success", taking place at 10:30 AM in the Class of '50 lecture hall. Click here for more information.
Watch the mail: In addition to receiving a Day on Campus invitation from the Office of Admissions, you also might receive information from your academic program ahead of time, outlining your program's events and including a specific timeline. International students and Domestic students who are living abroad will not receive invitations for the program but are welcome to attend. Please contact your academic advisor for more information.
