In 2008-09, 1,585 Purdue students participated in Study Abroad. Since 2002, the number of Purdue students studying overseas has tripled and the number of programs offered has doubled. The office strives to send as many students as possible overseas in the belief that spending time in another country can be life-enriching, can add uniqueness to one's academic experience, and can enhance one's career potential.
The University offers both short-term and long-term study abroad programs. Some programs are designed for students in very specific fields of study, while others have vast appeal and varied course options. Students in all disciplines have the option to seek an international education experience through Purdue.
The Office of Programs for Study Abroad and the Office of International Programs work closely with departments and colleges on an ongoing basis to continue increasing the number of international opportunities for Purdue students and faculty. See www.studyabroad.purdue.edu.
