New names for two medical plans in 2010

As announced earlier this year, beginning in January 2010, our new medical plan vendor will be CIGNA.  As a result of this move to CIGNA, we are changing the names of the UnitedHealthcare plan and the Incentive PPO:

• The UnitedHealthcare plan will now be called the Purdue Copay plan and
• The Incentive PPO will be called the Purdue Incentive plan.

Your cost for medical coverage in 2010

Your payroll contributions for both the Purdue Incentive plan (formerly Incentive PPO plan) and the Purdue Copay plan (formerly UnitedHealthcare plan) will not increase for 2010.  The University is absorbing the employee’s medical premium increase for next year.

And don’t forget that by completing a wellness screening, the HealthPath Questionnaire, and four Healthy Purdue apples by November 20, 2009, you’ll receive a $200 medical plan premium reduction in 2010, to be applied to whichever medical plan you choose.  Your spouse or same-sex domestic partner can also earn a $200 medical plan premium reduction for a total family savings of $400.
