STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

Purdue Convocations is proud to offer two fun and exciting organizations for Purdue University students! Both of these organizations are a great way to get involved.

Convocations Voice Network (CVN) was officially established in 1985 to support and promote the performing arts events brought to campus by Purdue Convocations. Today, CVN has a membership of more than 200 students from various majors and backgrounds who participate in every performance of the season. CVN also provides volunteer ushering and sells merchandise and concessions for all of the Convocations events. All members ushering for a given show are invited to stay and see that show for FREE! CVN members may usher for as many or as few shows as they like.

Student Concert Committee (SCC) consists of 10-16 members. Students on the committee get an up close look at the business of presenting concerts. They have an active role in choosing artists that come to campus. They plan advertising and publicity for the event and take many responsibilities backstage on show day. Members serve a two-year term, the first year as a general member, the second as an officer serving in a leadership capacity. Current members select new members after thorough interviews. Members serve as a conduit for students to express their entertainment desires. Student Concert Committee is a great first step into the music business world.
