FRIENDS OF CONVOCATIONS

For more than 100 years, Purdue Convocations has brought compelling and vibrant performing arts presentations to the Purdue University campus. The diversity and quality of Convocations performances attracts arts lovers not only from the immediate community but also from the surrounding rural counties and throughout the state. While Purdue University receives state funding, Purdue Convocations does not. The tradition of a world-class performing arts program is only made possible by the continued support from alumni, friends and community partners ––our Friends of Convocations.

Individual Annual Membership Levels and Benefits

Friends of Convocations are able to purchase tickets before the general public and receive priority seating. Seating is determined using the Priority Point System (description below). Depending on your membership level, you will be recognized in show programs, receive preferred parking for shows at Elliott Hall of Music, and be invited to special activities and receptions.

PRIORITY POINT SYSTEM: The Priority Point System helps us allocate our most sought-after commodity: preferred seats! Everyone wants to sit in the best seat available and Friends Priority Points provides a system to make seating decisions.

The Priority Point System acknowledges Friends of Convocations for both their loyalty and their financial support. Friends earn points for cumulative giving, consecutive years of membership, and series ticket purchases. Priority Points are used to assign seats and fill requests for improved seats. They are earned annually per household, accumulate with each year of membership and are non-transferrable. Priority Points are calculated before seating each new season and updated throughout the year before seating special events. Ticket orders and seating requests received by the Priority Points deadline are filled in point order. For the 2008-09 season, the Priority Points deadline is June 16, 2008. Friends may receive priority seating for up to six tickets per performance.

We accept gifts of cash, check, credit card (Visa, Mastercard and Discover), payroll deduction and stock. Matching gifts are also encouraged. For more information, please call Amanda Smith, Donor Relations Coordinator, at 494-9712.
