Quickly developing a reputation as one of the finest young chamber ensembles performing today, the ATOS Trio has been praised for its luscious sound, wide-ranging repertoire, and fine interpretations. With an engaging chemistry and heartfelt devotion to their music, the trio has charmed audiences in major concert halls and at festivals throughout Europe, South America, and the United States. In 2007 the ATOS Trio won the grand prize, first prize, special prize, and audience prize at the fifth Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. Just weeks later, the trio was named winner of the prestigious Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award, a biennial honor bestowed by an association of 20 chamber music presenters, including Purdue Convocations. Their program will feature landmark trios from Beethoven and Shostakovich along with a fiery, Andalusian-inspired trio by Joachín Turina, a Spaniard who studied composition with D’Indy, Debussy, and Ravel in the early 1900s.
