Doktor Kaboom!

Doktor Kaboom!—a spiky-haired German scientist and sometimes rapper—turns the stage into his own personal laboratory and the audience into his assistants. The boisterous brainchild of scientist/comedian David Epley, Doktor Kaboom! explores the unpredictable, entertaining possibilities of scientific exploration—with air cannons, banana catapults and the creation of “elephant toothpaste.” This sidesplitting improvisational and innovative journey into scientific method and application is an experiment in fun that your students won’t want to miss!

Miss Frizzle’s students are putting on a play about global warming, and they need some cold, hard facts. The Friz and her reptilian sidekick, Liz, know just where to find them! This is no ordinary field trip, as a hop on The Magic School Bus™ takes the class and the audience on a whirlwind tour. From the arctic to the equator, they see telltale signs of climate change and learn how conservation, recycling and alternative energy can make a difference. Miss Frizzle and her class are up for the climate challenge. Are you?

Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters

In this Caldecott award-winning African folktale, Mufaro’s two daughters travel across the land to go before the king who is seeking a queen. Along the way, they unknowingly face tests of their kindness and compassion. An African variation on Cinderella, told with colorful staging and traditional drumming, songs and dance. Based on the book by John Steptoe; adapted for the stage by Karen Abbott.
