Confucius Institute to foster increased understanding and ties with China

China is investing in Indiana with two new China institutes that will provide instruction in areas of language, education, culture and business. Purdue and Chinese officials on Monday (May 14) celebrated the opening of a new China center, called the Confucius Institute at Purdue, which will offer Chinese language and cultural programs for students and the public. Poster Contest to be held at Lafayette and West Lafayette Schools for the Beijing Olympics

Local K-12 students put creative thoughts in the poster contest for the 29th Olympics to be held in Beijing, China, from August 8 to 24. Posters with themes ranging from traditional Chinese culture, modernity, sport events, peace and harmony to pandas, the Great Wall and the other Chinese elements were highlighted.
