Kevin joined Purdue, with appointments in Earth & Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) and Agronomy. He holds advanced degrees in Atmospheric Science, Ecology and Public Policy. As such, his research spans the broad arena of "global change." In particular, he is interested in quantification and characterization of the global carbon cycle with emphasis on exchanges of CO2 with the terrestrial biosphere, interaction with current and projected climate change and the fossil fuel sources of CO2 in the atmosphere. In addition to his science research, Kevin continues to work in the area of climate change policy through work with negotiators and organizations involved in the Kyoto Protocol. His recent work in this area involves constructing rational climate policy that includes deforestation and developing country targets.
