Adrian received his Bachelor of Science in Management from Purdue University in 2010. Following this he continued on to receive Masters of Business Administration in 2011 from Purdue University, Krannert School of Management at the Leibniz Universität in Hannover (GISMA Business School). Adrian has 4 years of industry experience with a manufacturing company where he has held many positions in area of data and analytics. Beginning as a social media marketing manager, Adrian drove execution of social media strategies across multiple social platforms in support of campaigns, corporate communications and direct to consumer initiatives. Adrian then continued on to assisted in building predictive models from multiple data streams that were used to generate high-value data elements such as performance predictions and behaviour classifiers. In his current role, Adrian is leading a team of business analysts responsible for delivering advanced analytics and data mining necessary to facilitate strategic, tactical and operational decisions for the a North American customer care center.
Jie Chen received her M.A. in Department of Marketing from Nankai University in China and Ph.D. in Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing from Purdue University. Dr. Chen specializes in applying and integrating quantitative and qualitative methods in academic researches. Prior to becoming Research Fellow of Center for Global Urban Sustainability - Ensuring Sustainable Health among Underserved (CGUS-ESHAUS), Jie has participated in mostly consumer research projects, such as brand choice, consumer product-locating behavior, patient experience, patient preference, and hospital resource utilization. Quantitative research methods that are commonly adopted include regression analysis, ANOVA, and Multivariate data analysis. Her recent interests focus on applying qualitative research methods, such as grounded theory and content analysis, in school wellness policy project and community populations' perception project. Jie is leading the Center's effort in mining the social media data for enhancing college students' learning experience, mental wellness, and success.
