Community Health Delivery

In collaboration with Covering Kids & Family, the Center for Global Urban Sustainability (CGUS) works on promoting access of vulnerable students and families to health care services in the State of Indiana. CGUS also has been actively collaborating with Community HealthNet (CHN) on improving access to quality health care and preventive care among the vulnerable populations in the Lake County of Indiana. CHN, as a federally qualified health center (FQHC) with five locations, has serviced the health needs of the local residents and the "Cross Border" living populations from the neighboring counties of Illinois. Currently, CGUS has built for CHN a database for their enrollment effort and assist CHN in monitoring their activities via weekly updates of the data.

Public Health Accreditation

CGUS is collaborating with Indiana Public Health Association, Indiana Public Health Practice Council, and IU School of Public Health Bloomington on responding to the national call for improving the quality and performance of public health departments. CGUS supports in building infrastructure for facilitating the preparedness of local health departments for their accreditation exercise.

Veteran Entrepreneurship - Navso

CGUS has participated in a national project of determining success factors for entrepreneurship. The project aims to provide evidence-based insights for the nation to “better understand opportunities and challenges relating to entrepreneurship and has the ability to shape how millions of dollars are invested annually, both from public and private sources.” (Excerpt from NAVSO’s Project proposal to the Kaufmann Foundation)
