Managing the demands and developmental challenges of college

Initial Contact With CAPS

Walk-In Services

  • Walk-in consultation with a staff therapist
  • Assessment of need and determine best options available
  • Walk-In hours 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday during academic year
    • Summer: 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

Emergency/Crisis Services

  • Therapists available for emergency consultations
  • Walk-In or Call (765) 494-6995

Direct Services

Group Therapy

  • Peer to peer interactions within a therapist facilitated group setting
  • Provides the opportunity to share and learn from others
  • Gives an opportunity to provide and receive feedback and support

Individual Therapy

  • Discuss and explore problems or feelings that are important to you
  • Grow toward greater freedom in making informed choices

Couples Therapy

  • Address sources of stress and conflict within your relationship
  • Is available to non-student spouses and partners when part of conjoint therapy with a currently enrolled student

Psychiatric Services

  • Psychiatric evaluation and consultation is available upon appropriate referral
  • Initial evaluation available at no charge

Alcohol and Other Drugs Program (AOD)

  • Assessment and clinical evaluation of substance use
  • Consultation, treatment, and outreach educational programming

Psychological Testing

  • Comprehensive testing for ADHD, learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • The first step in pursuing testing is a thorough initial consultation at no charge

No Show Policy

Outreach and Consultation Services

  • Workshops and seminars
  • Consultations
    • Provide information on campus and community mental health resources
    • Work with academic advisors to help students cope better
    • Assist in residence hall staff and therapist training
    • Plan strategies to avert a potential crisis
    • Respond to crises
  • Multicultural Relational Outreach

Care Management Services

  • Maximize opportunities for academic and personal success
    • Advocate for students
    • Provide assistance for students with financial needs
  • Provide crisis intervention and support
  • Coordinate care between campus and community resources
    • Connect students to appropriate campus and community resources
    • Facilitate appropriate referrals to outside agencies when needed
  • Facilitate records releasing

Therapy Fees

  • Most services are available at no charge
  • Fee waivers are available for students in high financial need
