Workshop on ‘Negotiation’ in January 2018

The Butler Center will be organizing a workshop titled “Negotiation” in Spring 2018. The main goals of the Negotiation workshop are to help participants with the following:

  1. An introduction to the gender pay gap and it’s long-long consequences;
  2. Know your value, or how to identify and articulate your personal value;
  3. Know your target salary and benefits, using objective market-based data;
  4. Know your strategy, and how to develop an arsenal of persuasive responses and other negotiation strategies; and
  5. Practice and roleplay.

The three-hour workshop is open to women faculty, staff and all-but-dissertation graduate students. There are three iterations, and the same content will be covered in each workshop session. Each iteration will have 40 seats available. Due to the limited amount of seats, the Butler Center will not be able to accommodate additions after the sessions are full.

Participants will register for a session according to their role at the University:

Faculty: 9 a.m.-noon Jan. 23
Staff: 2-5 p.m. Jan. 23
Graduate student (ABD only): 9 a.m.-noon Jan. 24
