Fall Program

In 2017-18, the Butler Center is introducing a new series called ‘conversations about inclusion.’ The main goal of this series is to facilitate thinking about inclusion on campus. While panelists may utilize scholarly research and literature and/or experience. it may be relevant to think of strategies and initiatives that facilitate inclusion. The series will focus on topics that will be meaningful for faculty as well as staff and students. Each panelist will speak for a maximum of 10 minutes and most of the time will be devoted to discussions and Q&A. The fall series line-up is finalized and will be sent out the first week of the fall semester (week of Aug 21st).

Two additional campus-wide events about mid-level leadership and negotiations are being planned for the spring. More information will be distributed later this fall.

The Center will also be undertaking a couple of research projects pertaining to gender, race, and recognition in the academy.

The Center continues with the pre-tenure conference on September 7-8, 2017. Over 120 participants from within and outside Purdue have registered for this conference. The breakfast on Wednesdays (for faculty) as well as the small group leadership coaching sessions will also continue in 2017-18.
