Post-Doc Fellowship for Native American Student
The American Indian Studies Program at the University of Wyoming is looking for an ABD Native American student who will graduate either this spring or summer for a year-long post-doc fellowship. We would like someone working on a native topic, preferably 20th century.
The position pays $35,000 and if all works out, a possible permanent tenure-track position.The position requires involvement with native student organizations and teaching five classes during the fall, spring, and summer of 2013.

Purdue Position Announcement: Graduate Administrative Professional Leadership and Civic Engagement area of the Office of the Dean of Students
Position: The Graduate Administrative Professional (GAP) is a half-time (20 hours per week) administrative appointment, requiring evening and weekend responsibilities. This position operates within the Leadership and Civic Engagement area of the Office of the Dean of Students. It carries a stipend and tuition remission. The position begins August 1, 2012 and is a 10-month appointment (ending date is May 31, 2013).

Duties: Perform generalist activities related to the management of the Student Activities and Organizations area such as event/travel planning and approval, advising student groups, utilize Getinvolved, and market programs of the office. The person selected for this GAP position will also work directly to develop leadership training, opportunities, and programs for students including the Emily Mauzy Vogel Sophomore Leadership Development Conference. As a specialist in Leadership Development, this person will interact with and guide students interested in leadership activities including all of our leadership classes and focus groups. The person selected will also be responsible for the review and training of student leaders. In addition, this GAP will assist with customer service as well as student organization programs including but not limited to the Student Leaders Retreat, Student Organization Assembly, President’s Dinner, Grand Alternative, Awards Banquet, and the Leadership Journey. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Earned Bachelor’s degree and admission into a Purdue University graduate program
- Experience with an interest in student organizations and co-curricular development
- Experience in and a commitment to the efficacy of student involvement in community and civic engagement
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
- A passion for community service and civic engagement programming
- A passion for working with, advising, and teaching students
- Be team oriented, willing to take initiative, and learn on the job
- Computer proficiency

This GAP position works closely with the Boiler Volunteer Network Student Leadership Team, including the Community Action Day Site Supervisors, the Special Event Coordinators, and the Issue Advocates. Along with the Assistant Dean for Community Engagement and Involvement, this GAP position advises, manages, and coordinates the work and activities of the Student Leadership Team.
This GAP position assists in planning and coordinating (and must be available for) Community Action Days (up to five per year), the Fall Harvest Food Drive, the Season of Sharing, Project Move Out, and Martin Luther King Day of Service.This position will also interact with students on a one-on-one, group, and class room basis in advising and guiding their interests in community and civic involvement.
The student selected must demonstrate a commitment to community service, civic involvement, and student engagement.
