Mid-level Leadership Workshop

The Butler Center is organizing a mid-level Leadership workshop which will be conducted by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) on April 4th 2018, 9 am to 12 pm at the East Faculty Lounge, PMU. AAUW’s report, Barriers and Bias: The Status of Women in Leadershipexamined the causes of women’s underrepresentation in leadership roles and suggests what individuals, employers, and government can do to change the status quo.

Using the lens of the gender leadership gap, and with the latest research and strategies, AAUW has developed a workshop designed to enable women to successfully navigate the complexities of the workplace. The workshop content is as follows:

  • Inventory women’s strengths so they can develop their personal brand and articulate their value
  • Create action plans to help faculty/staff grow their leadership skills
  • Learn negotiation skills critical to their leadership success, including discussion of raises and promotions
  • Increase skill in navigating difficult conversations and workplace conflict
  • Develop strategies for positively receiving and responding to feedback
  • Examine and understand the gender leadership gap, including its long-term consequences

This Leadership workshop is intended for mid-level faculty. For more information, contact us at butlercenter@purdue.edu.
