Butler Center Celebrations
The Butler Center recognizes both women and men of Purdue through awards that acknowledge their accomplishments. Some of the featured award programs are Violet Haas, Leadership In Action and Faculty Scholars.
The Violet Haas Award recognizes those individuals, programs, or departments currently at Purdue who have effectively facilitated the advancement of women in hiring, promotion, education, and salary, or have generally enhanced a positive professional climate for women at Purdue University.
The Leadership In Action Award recognizes Purdue faculty, staff, and a student who have shown exemplary leadership within their respective areas of expertise. Whether it is through excellence in a particular field or demonstating commitment to the success and development of other leaders. This award will also acknowledge honorees’ accomplishments and professional contributions showing leadership with direct effect on their work and community environments.
The Faculty Scholar Award supports faculty member’s research in developing a project that furthers scholarship and promotes the mission and strategic themes of the Butler Center.
The Office of the Provost in partnership with the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence is pleased to announce the inaugural Susan Bulkeley Butler Distinguished Lecture to recognize faculty who have made significant contributions to their respective academic communities. This award is the only distinguished research award that cuts across the entire Purdue campus and is awarded to one scholar per year.
The Susan Bulkeley Butler Research Fellowship recognizes and supports research-to-practice projects by faculty, staff, programs, and graduate students or postdocs at Purdue. This event is a formal reception held once per year in May. Participants attend to honor individuals or programs at Purdue.
