The Proposal Development Narrative module is where all proposal attachments are uploaded for a specific record. Attachments may be either components of the sponsor submission or internal that are utilized by the Institution.

View Attachments

To access the Proposal Narratives you must first search for a proposal and have it open in Display:

1. Open the Proposal Development Module by going to Maintain > Proposal Development... -or- click the "Maintain Proposal Development" icon.

2. Search for the proposal

3. Double click the appropriate record from the Search Results List

4. Ensure the "Proposal Details" window is open and not the Budget

5. Go to Edit > Narrative -or- click the "Proposal Narrative" icon.

6. To view attachment, click the corresponding icon on the left of the listed document.

Proposal Narrative Window

Below is an explanation of the different fields in the Narrative window:

1. Attachment Icon: Click to open uploaded document in a new browser window.

2. Status: Status will be "Incomplete" for draft documents and "Complete" for final. All attachments will be in "Complete" status when proposal is submitted.

3. Narrative Type: Category of document uploaded. To see a list of documents with their corresponding Narrative Types, click HERE.

NOTE: All Narrative Types that start with "INTERNAL" are for institutional use only and will not be included in the sponsor submission package.

4. Title: Descriptive title entered by Pre-Award that identifies the attachment

5. Comments: Any additional information entered by SPS Pre-Award regarding a specific attachment. The comments will change to correspond with the selected document.

6. Update Fields:

a. Last Updated By: Name of the User who last revised the attachment information and time/date of that revision.

b. Last Document Uploaded By: Name of the User who uploaded the most recent document version and upload time/date.

c. File Name: Name of the attached docume
