Second Course in ‘Life Cycle of an Account’ Series Opens for Enrollment - 11/3/09
Registration has opened for “BLCA 210 – Pre-award,” the second session in the annual series “Policy Training program for the Life Cycle of an Account: Pre-award Through Closeout.”
BLCA 210 will cover why certain processes are followed when developing a grant proposal and will focus on five areas:
1. Proposal processes and roles
2. Facilities and administration costs
3. Cost identification
4. Cost sharing
5. Pre-award reporting
The session will meet 2-4 p.m., Nov. 17 in Lynn 1136. Amanda Hamaker, assistant director for Sponsored Program Services pre-award, and Melissa Guinn, business manager for Science, will conduct the class.
Online self-enrollment through PREMIS is available to staff members with their Purdue Career Account and password. To access “BLCA 210 – Pre-award” after logging in, click “Business Systems,” then “Life Cycle of an Account.” Attendance will be limited to 60.
Employees interested in the course should work with their supervisors or training coordinators to determine whether they need to attend.
The series is composed of 12 sessions, each examining a critical piece of the life cycle of an account and emphasizing the reasons behind University policies. Remaining classes to be offered in the series are: Account Management First Steps, Account Management Day to Day Tasks, Signature Delegation, Management Reports, Cost Sharing, Account Management Correction and Certifications, Pre-auditor Training, Non-Sponsored Program Accounts, Recharge Activities, and Account Management Closings.
