CAAMP Offers Software Training Opportunities - 11/15/11

The Clerical and Administrative Assistants Mentoring Program (CAAMP) recently announced new training opportunities in the “Essentials” of Adobe Acrobat, Excel and PowerPoint.

Courses are video recordings and presented online in FREH 104 Training Lab and FREH 248 Training Lab (both in Freehafer Hall), as well as other computer labs around campus. The sessions vary in length from two to four hours, allowing participants to work at their own speed and their own level of expertise as they listen, learn and practice. A teaching aide will be present to assist and answer questions.

The number of seats in each session is limited, but sessions are offered numerous times to ensure that everyone interested in a course has an opportunity to attend. Participants may attend as many sessions and as many times as they choose.

The “Essentials” courses offered are:

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro — Three-part course teaches participants to create, modify and design Adobe documents, create a PDF portfolio, and learn about security features, conversions and more.

Excel — Three-part course teaches attendees how to manipulate worksheets using templates and formatting, how to import and export data, to work with macros and formulas, and to design and create charts.

PowerPoint — Course teaches participants to create, edit and save slide templates; to insert charts and graphs, design and format slides.

Example files accompany each course.

To reserve a seat in any or all of these sessions, participants must be enrolled. To enroll, please visit CAAMP’s computer training page on the Training Registration website and follow these steps:
