Beginning Excel ’07 Course Offered, Registration Open - 11/3/09

A beginning, hands-on class covering new tools and navigation within Excel 2007 is scheduled for presentation five times between Nov. 13 and Dec. 3.

“Excel 260 - Excel Level One for Business Services” is a three-hour course. It will focus on ribbons, basic entering and editing in a worksheet, basic format tools and page layout/print options. Sessions are scheduled for:
     -- 8:30-11:30 a.m., Nov. 13
     -- 1:30-4:30 p.m., Nov. 18
     -- 8:30-11:30 a.m., Nov. 20
     -- 8:30-11:30 a.m., Dec. 2
     -- 8:30-11:30 a.m., Dec. 3
All will meet in the ITaP Training Room on Freehafer’s second floor. Suzanne Ahlersmeyer, instructional designer, will teach.

Topics covered include:
     -- Navigating with ribbons, contextual menus and the mini toolbar.
     -- Creating a new worksheet by entering basic labels, values and selecting cells.
     -- Using basic formulas, AutoSum, and using AutoFill.
     -- Editing a worksheet using copy, paste, insert, delete, office clipboard and find/replace.
     -- Formatting a worksheet changing labels, values, row height, column width and cell alignment.
     -- Using Format Painter and cell styles.
     -- Printing a worksheet using basic print options and page layout setting.

Online self-enrollment through PREMIS is available to staff members with their Purdue Career Account and password. To access the list of “Excel 260” offerings after logging in, click “Microsoft,” then the course name.
