ITaP Networks and Security Introduces New Version of Filelocker - 04/5/11

Filelocker, the software application created by ITaP Networks and Security to enable Purdue employees to transfer large files containing sensitive information, has been updated with a new version.

With Version 1 no longer in service, users are directed to log into the new Filelocker website. On first visit, users are asked to accept Filelocker’s terms of service. Subsequent visits take them to the “My Files” page.

Version 2 contains a number of navigational changes, and users are encouraged to access “How to Use Filelocker 2” from the Data Steward SharePoint site.

Because Filelocker is a temporary and secure storage system for sharing files and data, its users must transfer their files in a manner that conforms to the University’s Data Classification and Handling Guidelines. In addition, use of the Filelocker tool is subject to Purdue University’s IT Resource Acceptable Use Policy.
