Purdue Switches Firms for Workers’ Compensation Management - 07/1/10
Effective today, JWF Specialty Co. will manage Workers’ Compensation claims for the University.
According to Human Resources, the change to JWF will increase personalized service for injured employees, while it decreases administrative costs to the University.
Injuries that occur July 1 or later are to be reported electronically via a new First Report of Injury (FROI) form designated for JWF. Instructions for completing the new form can be accessed through a link on the form.
Claims for injuries which occurred prior to July 1, 2010, will be handled by Liberty Mutual, the University’s previous Workers’ Compensation administrator. The procedure for reporting claims to Liberty Mutual will be unchanged. A First Report of Injury (FROI) form designated for Liberty Mutual may be completed online.
More information can be found on the Workers’ Compensation page of the Vice President for Human Resources website, and the June 15 Business @ Purdue News article, “Human Resources Issues Notice of Change for Workers’ Compensation Claims.”
Additional information also is available from Deborah Popa, HR’s return to work coordinator, 494-0306.
