SSC Offers Reminder on Administrative Supplements for Exempt Faculty and Staff - 05/4/10
The Shared Service Center (SSC) reminds business offices that the review and approval of administrative supplements for exempt faculty and staff occur during the annual budget process and are submitted on a budget table, Support Documentation 3.
Details about administrative supplements are available in the Guidelines and Procedures for Administrative Supplements document located on the Office of the Provost website.
Budget and Fiscal Planning has announced that as a result of the 0 percent salary policy, the HR Retraction for the fiscal year 2011 budget process will not be completed. Thus, if there are changes to an administrative supplement (beginning, ending or change in dollar amount), a Personnel Action (PA) form must be completed and submitted directly to the SSC in Freehafer. The online form is available in the forms section of the People/Compensation page of Business @ Purdue.
Calculation of administrative supplements follows an employees’ appointment type. For academic year appointments, the annual amount of the supplement is divided by 9; for fiscal year appointments, the annual amount of the supplement is divided by 12. The administrative supplement “period rate” is included on the PA form.
