New Overtime Policy Affects Need for Flexible Work Schedule - 02/8/11

Since Jan. 3, when changes to the overtime policy went into effect, Human Resources Compensation has no longer been required to approve flexible work schedules of more than eight hours in a day. 

In addition, HR asks staff to note that the Fair Labor Standards Act regulations do not permit work hours to be averaged over periods of two or more weeks.

HR encourages departments and hiring supervisors to review the Flexible Work Guidelines and to keep the Flexible Work Agreement on file. Both documents are located on the HR-WorkLife Programs Flexible Work Arrangements website.
